ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL
This morning I joined the Mayor’s HerStory 5K. Women have always been the ones writing history, and it was such a pleasure meeting so many of you out there today. 🏃🏼♀️
Great petitioning event at Cactus Cantina. Ballot access matters. A healthy democracy means real choices on the ballot — let’s make sure voters have options this election season!
Great meet-and-greet in AdMo! So grateful to Kathleen Stratton, Beth Kramer, Steve Sheffey for opening their doors and welcoming me in. I love meeting neighbors across the city and will always show up, listen, and meet people where they are.
Meet and greet in Anacosita!
Greta, Jared, and Andrew. Neighbors in Anacostia.
Thank you to all of those who joined me in my petition signing party in Cleveland Park!
Grateful to Gallery Neptune & Brown for opening their gallery and giving me the chance to meet neighbors. A beautiful space filled with incredible art.
Honored to have been a part of this Black History Month Forum. Hosted by ABC's Phylicia Ashley, The National Pan-Hellenic Council, DC NAACP, and DCAction.
Proud to be a sponsor of Capital Stonewall Democrats' 50th Anniversary Celebration.
Howard Garrett, ANC2G01
Petitioning, canvassing, and watching the Super Bowl made for a good weekend.
Thankful for Jaime Harrison’s support and for an incredible night at Ben’s Chili Bowl with the Ali family. Ben’s is where history and community meet, and last night reflected the momentum we’re building together. I'm grateful to you all.
Just a throwback to a day filled with endless smiles and the happiest little faces. 🐚💫
Meeting people where they are ... at the metro!
We're out here!! We need 2,000 signatures by March 18th. Will you help us?
Today’s the first day we can gather signatures to put me officially on the ballot. I’m so grateful for the support and enthusiasm of DC friends all across the city. If you want to help circulate petitions please let me know - thank you and stay safe in the snow this weekend!
Spent this afternoon meeting neighbors and protesting this administration one year after its inauguration. Free DC.
Out in the community, listening and learning.
Grateful for a meaningful meet & greet in Adams Morgan with Amie Perl, and Miriam Szubin! Bringing together friends, many working in government and politics, for thoughtful introductions, shared perspectives, and genuine connection.
Decking the halls and the neighborhoods ✨🎄 Our yard signs are popping up like ornaments all across DC. Let us know if you'd like one!
Just renewed my library card! This is a small reminder of how vital our public libraries are to learning, community, and opportunity in this city.
Today I met Alex from Navy Yard, who works at FEMA, and Andy from Silver Spring. Both see how federal interference impacts DC’s daily life -- whether you live here or spend your days here. DC needs reliable leadership and real autonomy. Not more agents. Not youth curfews. We need funding and statehood. Yesterday.
Had a wonderful time at the Capital Stonewall Dems holiday party last night. What a great way to spend the holiday season. Everyone needs to sign up for membership!
Feeling inspired by the incredible talent and spirit on display at the Messiah Concert at Anacostia Church! What a powerful way to celebrate the season with our neighbors. Thank you for welcoming me!
Great seeing @adelitaforcongress yesterday. She earned her seat in Congress, and every day she’s kept from it is a failure of democracy. Sign the petition to swear her in!
It’s always great spending time with my fellow Emerge alums — and a special thank you to @ashantigholar for making this community as strong and inspiring as it is.
Amazing to celebrate DC scholars across the city and across the decades at Higher Achievement's 50th anniversary last night. Special shout-outs to Bo, Carlos and Lindsey for their tremendous leadership of this organization.
A great honor to attend the Ward 8 Church Clergy and Faith Leaders Breakfast with my friends Barbara and Yvonne. We deeply agreed that a force greater than us brought us together that morning!
Yesterday and always, we said it loud and clear: No Kings in America
Some kids in our city hadn’t experienced a pumpkin patch, so we brought one to them! 🎃 Watching each child’s creativity come alive while painting their pumpkins was pure joy. Fall is officially here in DC. 🍁
Some of my amazing colleagues from my time at @peerforward, a national organization that helps students become the first in their families to go to college. Working alongside them taught me what’s possible when we open doors for people who’ve been left out. That same belief drives me today as I fight to make sure DC finally has the voice it deserves.
Grateful to join the @anacostiacoordinatingcouncildc annual brunch cruise this past weekend, surrounded by old friends and new ones, celebrating community and the beauty of our city along the river.
So honored to celebrate second chances at the ribbon-cutting of Community College Prep!
Proud to have joined @anc8bdc last night in their discussions on the National Guard, crime prevention strategies, and the plans for Therme DC — a new wellness and water park being developed at Poplar Point that could bring jobs, recreation, and investment to the community.
Hands off DC!
Enjoyed my time at Art All Night this year! Thank you for all of the community members and artists that made it possible ❤️
It was an honor to sponsor the Wanda Alston Foundation reception last night and stand in support of LGBTQ+ youth facing homelessness. As Trump and Congress target our most vulnerable kids, the rest of us must lock arms to protect them.
